Camels are able to eat thorny plants and other rough vegetation because their mouths have special adaptations to this type of environment.
Firstly, camels have a thick layer of keratin on their lips, which can prevent thorns from cutting or injuring their lips. Secondly, their mouths have strong teeth that can easily chew on the tough and hard parts of plants, including thorns. Additionally, their mouths have hardened upper jaws and tongues that can withstand and push aside the thorn.
